My Review
There are some books you read that will unfortunately be forgotten over
time, and there are some books that will completely consume you and make
you recall it's beauty for a very long time to come - The Ocean at the
End of the Lane is one of those books!
Gaiman writes enchantingly and I let his beautiful worlds wash over me and take me to another place and another time where anything is possible!
The pacing is perfect and I loved each exciting thing that was uncovered along the way. There is so much to discover, explore and as a reader I felt like I was doing this alongside our main character. The descriptors are lush and managed to bring everything to life in such exquisite detail!
I couldn't try and sum up this story, because I think everyone will take something different from it and I wouldn't like to spoil anything for anybody.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane is an epic adventure tale that is peppered with myth and the most moreish characters. The magic of it will eat you up and have you mulling it over in your mind and talking about it with others. This is easily Gaiman's best work to date.
Go read it, nothing you have ever read can possibly compare. I need to go buy It for myself because this copy is borrowed out of the library *sniff*.
