Touch of Death by Kelly Hashway

Summary from Goodreads

Jodi Marshall isn't sure how she went from normal teenager to walking disaster. One minute she's in her junior year of high school, spending time with her amazing boyfriend and her best friend. The next she's being stalked by some guy no one seems to know.

After the stranger, Alex, reveals himself, Jodi learns he's not a normal teenager and neither is she. With a kiss that kills and a touch that brings the dead back to life, Jodi discovers she's part of a branch of necromancers born under the 13th sign of the zodiac, Ophiuchus. A branch of necromancers that are descendants of Medusa. A branch of necromancers with poisoned blood writhing in their veins.

Jodi's deadly to the living and even more deadly to the deceased. She has to leave her old, normal life behind before she hurts the people she loves. As if that isn't difficult enough, Jodi discovers she's the chosen one who has to save the rest of her kind from perishing at the hands of Hades. If she can't figure out how to control her power, history will repeat itself, and her race will become extinct.

My Review

Touch of Death is a brilliant debut from Kelly Hashway that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish! The storyline is very unique and extremely intriguing - I definitely found it very hard to put down! Poison in your veins and a kiss that can kill really does put a huge dampener on main character Jodie's life! I was instantly interested in this and the drama, twists, turns, shockers and prophecies captured and held my attention right up until the very end! There is a set of fabulous characters in here and I easily connected with main character Jodie, I also had a bit of a crush on the mysterious and swoon worthy Alex! Kelly Hashway has brought a cracking new book to the table here and I am very excited to see where we will be taken next!

Jodi Marshall's life is quite normal until weird things start happening around her and things start rapidly going down hill. She is also being stalked by a boy that no one seems to know anything about and it's really creeping her out (even though he's kinda cute)! But when he reveals his identity he also reveals a lot of shockers that explains a little bit of whats been happening to her!

Turns out Jodi is a necromancer, descending from Medusa herself - with a kiss she can kill and with a touch she can bring the dead back! But most shockingly of all, Jodi is supposed to be the chosen one that the prophecy talks about! So, Alex takes her from her life, bringing her to a training school for necromancers. When she arrives weird things start happening, but will Jodi manage to learn enough about her new-found powers in time to save the Ophi from the destroyer - Hades himself!?!

Well, Jodi will need to watch her back as not everyone is what they seem and there are those out there who wish her harm!

The ending is fantastic, full of action and it left off nicely, not a cliffhanger in sight, but it will leave you intrigued for the next book! This is a really great first instalment that I could easily recommend!

4/5 Stars!
