My Review

I just had to give Ocean of Secrets 5 stars, it really is an enchanting read that I couldn't put down! It's not too often that I read a book from start to finish in one day! The authors writing style is fabulously addictive and the world created here is truly mesmerizing. I truly adored the storyline and I quickly fell in love with main character Miranda, who is a delight to get to know, she is a little different and doesn't blend in with the it girl crowd, she is smart, beautiful and she handles herself really well. Selkie Island is  a magical place where people who have been before are drawn back to and I really don't blame them, it is a beautifully vivid place that is brought to life so wonderfully by the authors awesome descriptions. This is one of my favourite reads so far this year and I would easily recommend it to everyone.

When the grandmother she has never before met dies, Miranda Merchant heads off to help her mother sort out the house she inherited in the mysterious Selkie Island. The Island has lots of strange little legends that are both weird and intriguing. Miranda soon finds herself connected to not only the island but an interesting guy that she just happens upon on the beach. She soon finds out that there is more to Selkie Island than meets the eye, Miranda will end up questioning everything she thought she had already figured out about herself and life.

Ocean of Secrets is a fantastic tale of a girl meets boy but there is more to it than that, Miranda will discover some secrets surrounding her late grandmother, the island and the boy she is falling for. Also it is about a mother and a daughter learning about each other and the changes they are both going through in their lives. The ending works out brilliantly even though I was a little sad. I really do hope this is not the last we are going to hear from Miranda and Selkie Island!
