Paddington Goes For Gold by Michael Bond

A brand new picture book starring Paddington, the classic bear from Darkest Peru, as he takes part in a local family sports event, with hilarious results!

When Paddington attends a local family sports event with the Brown family, he can’t wait to try his paw at as many activities as possible. But, as always, when Paddington is around, things do not quite go according to plan… with outrageously sticky results.

And as Paddington soon finds out, it’s not winning that counts, it’s the taking part…
Will Paddington go home with any prizes?

 My Review

Who doesn't love Paddington Bear? Right? And this brand new addition is no exception, it is another wonderful adventure for Paddington and the Brown's.

Paddington and the Brown's attend a local sports day, the family are quite competitive at the start but things start going downhill when Paddington gets involved.. He only wants to help but he does the opposite of helping every-time and ruins the Brown's chances of winning anything.

Everyone is down in the dumps as nobody won a thing, but there was an unexpected surprise in store for Paddington.

This was a really well written, wonderfully illustrated, engaging, funny read. We will definitely be going back and reading again and again and we will also be looking out for new Paddington bear titles in the future. I actually think I enjoyed this more than my 3 year old. :)

4/5 Stars

Carly :)
