My Review
Oooh La La! We absolutely loved Lulu and The Best Cake Ever. With it's fantastic, engaging storyline and wonderful, vibrant illustrations, it is definitely a winner. The pacing and length is brilliant for holding the attention of a 3 year old. My daughter paid so much attention she made her own words up and basically told the story back to me. :)
Lulu the little dog who just thinks she is the best at everything. She calls her best-friend Alfie to help her bake a cake for the cake baking competition. Even though she has never made a cake before, she thinks her cake will be the best cake ever.
She takes her cake along to the competition, there are loads of brilliant cakes that her friends have made. There can only be one winner and Lulu soon realises that you don't always have to win everything, as long as you take part and have fun. She also learns that there are just some things you will be better at doing than others.
A perfect book that I think everyone will love, children and adults alike. We will be reading this one again and again. I would definitely recommend this for the little one in your life.
A 5 star read
