My Review

Secret Lives is an awesome kick start to a series that I really should of picked up a whole lot sooner! It's dark, dangerous, mysterious, highly intriguing, full of surprise and managed to pull me in right from the off! I loved the characters, some more than others but there are some great love to hate characters which is a huge plus! The writing is highly engaging and the world building is in-depth and crafted brilliantly. In parts of the book I had a full on creepy feeling that even managed to give me goosebumps! What I enjoyed the most was the unknown, which was kept up well into the book, also main character Cassie's thirst for knowledge and the dangers she would put herself in to get answers. This is a highly addictive first book that has me already reaching for the next book.

The Darke Academy is a boarding school for the spoilt, rich and very beautiful. Cassie Bell is the opposite of rich but she manages to bag herself a scholarship in the super creepy academy! Not long after Cassie arrives she realises that there is more to the pupils and the school than meets the eye! So she makes it her own personal mission to get to the bottom of it but she soon discovers that what she learns can't be taken back and she finds herself in way over her head!

The ending is action packed, full of shockers and has finished off leaving me eager to know whats going to happen next. Add this lightening quick thrill ride to your Must-read lists today as it really is deadly.
