Haunt by Curtis Jobling - Blog Tour!

Summary from Goodreads

When Will finds himself in hospital, but unable to make anyone see or hear him, he realises that he never made it home from his first date with the school hottie. Knocked off his bike in a road traffic accident, Will is now officially dead - and a ghost. But somehow his best mate, Dougie, can still see him, and, once they've exhausted all the comic possibilities of being invisible, they decide to delve into the truth behind a school rumour - whether there really is an unhappy spirit haunting the ruins in the school grounds, and if so, why? What they discover is a long-buried mystery, which stretches its fingers right into the present…

My Review

Haunt is a lightening quick thrill ride that is not only hilariously funny but ever so chilling in places!

Friendship plays a big part in this book and it's very heartwarming. The two best-friends in this story have a bond that everyone out there should be so lucky to have. Will and Dougie have this easy banter that is really natural and had me snorting out loud on occasion.

This storyline follows the ghost of Will, who dies in a hit and run. He returns to his best-friends side, luckily for him he can actually see him. The pair agree to try and figure out what actually happened to Will, but it won't prove an easy task. They poke their noses in the wrong places and stir up a whole lot of trouble.

They end up having to solve another mystery that puts Dougie's life in danger. I will admit to clocking the mystery before it was revealed, but not too much before.

The lead up to the ending brought out the chills and thrills. I loved how intense everything became and I was on the very edge of my seat.

The ending itself was great and perhaps there will be another book? There certainly could be more adventures.

Haunt is a great all-rounder that packs a lot of punches. The friendship is top-class, there are tons of kicks and giggles, and the mystery will intrigue readers from the off. A great read!

4 / 5 Stars!
