Summary from Goodreads

My Review

Wow! What a kick off to what I expect will be an awesome series that I just wish I had picked up a whole lot sooner.

Sherrilyn Kenyon writes fantastically and has created such an in depth and highly complex world that is just so vivid, dangerous and inviting! Her characters bounce off the page, are larger than life and pack a seriously big punch!

The storyline follows a famous dancer called, Kiara, she is also a princess who's life has been under threat for most of her life. Her life is a deadly web of danger, but the stoic Nykyrian Oviakides - a commander assassin who oozes dark, dangerous but delicious trouble steps in to protect her.

Kiara is drawn to this broken, ridged shell of a man. But Nykyrian has a lot of demons, his past is a dark hole that anyone could easily get lost in. Could he possibly let a person in?

This story is an action packed thrill ride that took me on one hell of a roller coaster journey. So many surprises, tender moments, emotion and explosive action. The ending itself totally rocked and I instantly wanted more of these beautiful characters.

Nykyrian truly made the book for me - he is so swoon worthy. I adored the sizzling sexual tension between him and Kiara. At times I wanted to beat his stubborn head repetitively for being such a knuckle head and making the most infuriating decisions. He is one of those memorable characters that will stick around in your mind for a long time after closing the book.

There is also a really great bunch of secondary characters in here. Each and every one is intriguing and very individual - I'm seriously excited to get to know everyone a little better (especially Syn & Darling).

All in all Born of Night is a stand out read from a master in the genre. The characters are moreishly hot and the storyline is edgy and utterly fearless. I just know there is so much more awesome to come from this series - bring on Born of Fire already *fans self*

4.5 / 5 Stars

  1. Hey miss Carly, I haven't been over here in forever. I hope everything is well in your world. I have yet to read something by this author and I want to. Sounds like this is a good solid series and the nice thing about waiting is you can read them back to back to back, right?
