My Review

Well wow, Joseph Delaney managed to blow my mind in so many ways in this epic 6th instamlent in the Wardstone Chronicles.

Mr Delaney has upped his game in this book, taking us out of the county and to Greece where the stakes are higher and the danger is everywhere. The rules have changed for the spooks', because they don't have extensive knowledge of the dark creatures that reside in Greece.

Tom is forced to make a hard decision, go against his master and travel to Greece with his Mam to fight against one of the Old Gods, the Ordeen, or obey his master and stay in the County. If released into the world  she would be very deadly. Mam has also asked for the help of the Pendle witches, can Tom put his teachings as a spook to the side and join forces with his enemies?

This whole story is a raging battle with the most awesome battle scenes. We are faced with deadlier enemies and there are so many deadly twists. Tom is forced to make hasty decisions that could ultimately be his downfall in the future. There are also plenty of shocking moments and emotional scenes to keep you riveted!

The ending rocked me emotionally and I love Joseph Delaney's fantastic ability to convey emotion so beautifully. So much has changed after the events in this book and it has left me so very intrigued to see where we will be taken next!

The Spook's Sacrifice is a highly charged adventure story that is full of thrilling scenes and heartbreaking moments! It grabs hold and doesn't let go up until the final page! An absolute must read!

4.5 / 5 Stars
