My Review
The Ghost Prison is a brilliantly chilling tale that is an absolute
must read for fans of Joseph Delaney! If you are new to The Spook's
books then this would also be a great introduction to his amazing work!
The intrigue is on from the very first page and I sat glued from beginning to end. Delaney writes superbly, he sets the perfect scene and his lush descriptors and super chilling moments will have you vividly picturing this tale in your mind....
The storyline follows a little guy called, Billy, who gets a job as a prison guard, but it's an extraordinary prison, where things go bump in the night!
Billy must learn how to survive his nights and he is warned off going near the Witch Well, where their most dangerous prisoner is held.
Billy will learn the hard way and something very dangerous and very unexpected lurks down those shadowy steps.
This is a very quick novella, but we get to learn so much about this spooky place, even with it's short page count. Readers will be terrified at each turn but will also be dying to know more!
The Ghost Prison is quite an awesome little page turner that has been brought to life so fabulously with the wonderful little black and white illustrations that fill most pages. Vividly imagined with tons of shivers and goose-bumpy moments throughout - a real must read!
4 / 5 Stars!
