Tug of War by John Burningham

My Review

Tug of War is a story about a poor little hare, who is bullied by an elephant and a hippo! He is called the most awful names and it left out and made fun of quite a bit. But he manages to get his own back on the bullies in a really hilarious way!

We had great fun reading how hare tricked the 2 animals! This book taught my daughter that name calling is wrong and can really hurt peoples feelings. She really did feel sorry for little hare.

The writing was engaging and the illustrations were eye catching and very different.

What we enjoyed the most about this was how long it took for elephant and hippo to realise that it was the being made fun of for a change. We also loved how hare managed to get away with his sneakiness.

3/5 Stars
