 My Review

The Vintage Teacup Club is a fabulously warm and witty debut from Vanessa Greene and it has easily found a place on my favourites shelf. I adored everything about this book as it really does have a little bit of everything - charming female characters, 3 spectacular separate stories filled with fun, wit, humour, love, loss and best of all powerful friendships. Vanessa Greene writes fantastically, I was easily pulled into this storyline and I genuinely cared for the 3 leading ladies. I think what I like the most is the difference between the 3 women, in age as well as lifestyle and circumstance but they all come together to form a solid bond over their shared love of vintage teacups. This is the perfect book to curl up with on those dark nights in front of a roaring fire and maybe a little teacup of your own?!

Jenny, Maggie and Alison meet unexpectedly at a car-boot sale one afternoon, they each have a teacup from the same set in hand just dying to be called their own. Jenny wants the set for a vintage teacup theme for her wedding. Maggie wants it for a mad hatters wedding theme that she has been hired to work on. Alison wants to use the teacups for candle holders for her craft business. So the ladies decide to share the tea set. Little did they know that one little tea set could form a bond so strong that they will rely on each other when their lives are turned upside down.

All of the women go on such an amazing journey, there will be bumps and tears along the way but at least they will have each other!

This is a very heartwarming book that I think will appeal and be relate-able to a wide range of people. I simply loved the ending and the way things went out on a high. Vanessa Greene has whipped up a real storm in a teacup here and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish but I am so pleased we also got to see the calm after the storm. This is an author I will be looking out for in the future.
