Speechless by Hannah Harrington

Summary from Goodreads

Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can't keep a secret

Until now. Because the last secret she shared turned her into a social outcast—and nearly got someone killed.

Now Chelsea has taken a vow of silence—to learn to keep her mouth shut, and to stop hurting anyone else. And if she thinks keeping secrets is hard, not speaking up when she's ignored, ridiculed and even attacked is worse.

But there's strength in silence, and in the new friends who are, shockingly, coming her way—people she never noticed before; a boy she might even fall for. If only her new friends can forgive what she's done. If only she can forgive herself.

My Review

Speechless is one of the most amazing books that I have had the pleasure of reading this  year! Hannah Harrington is a master at writing this genre, her easily effortless way of wording things sets her miles apart from other writers! Some people will be shocked by reading her works but I always feel refreshed at at the realistic quality that surrounds it! Main character Chelsea is a fantastic character, at the start of the book I didn't like her at all but I quickly done a 360 and ended up truly caring what happened to her! There is a whole group of strong secondary characters that make the book all the more interesting. The storyline tackles tough issues really well, I only wish more authors would be more fearless with the taboo topics out there. I can easily say that I will pick up anything that has Hannah Harrington's name on it!

Chelsea Knot is the kind of girl who just loves a bit of juicy gossip but she really cannot manage to keep her mouth closed! When she sees something she shouldn't at a party and tells everyone, she nearly gets an innocent person killed....

Chelsea is cast out of social situations and is getting a real hard time at school. She decides to take a vow of silence because that way her mouth won't get her into any more trouble. New friends come her way and Chelsea realises that her past so-called friends weren't really true at all. She goes through such an amazing journey that it was a joy to read about and there might just be a beautiful love story in here that is natural and doesn't overpower the story.

The ending really is wonderful! Speechless is one of them memorable books that will definitely stick with the reader for a long time to come. I really can't praise this enough all I can do is urge everyone to read it! A definite must read book!
