My Review

I have heard so many great things about this series, so I was very eager to start this book and I really wasn't disappointed! First Grave on the Right is a fabulous debut from Darynda Jones and I am officially hooked! It is smart, funny, action packed and a real page turner. The authors writing is fantastic and will easily wrap you up in this awesome new world that has the most amazing characters. Main character Charley Davidson really is my kinda girl, she is sexy, snarky, sassy, kick-ass and is so sarcastic that you will be laughing out loud like an idiot! I have never came across such a complex character that is so down-to-earth and easily relate-able before. This is an easy new favourite for me and I urge everyone to pick up their own copy today!

Charley Davidson is a private investigator with an extraordinary side job as a Grim Reaper! She has been helping the departed from a young age to solve whats keeping them on earth and help them cross over. Her uncle Bob works for the police and always calls her in to help on cases. When 3 lawyers from the same firm are killed they come to her for help, so naturally she does not knowing the danger she will be put in along the way...

Other strange things are going on in Charley's life - she comes across a dark spectre that even the other ghosts seem to be frightened of! But is it out to cause her harm or protect her - that is the question!

The storyline is wonderfully engaging and flows at a great pace throughout. There is also a great set of secondary characters that you will be dying to get to know better. One word on the love interest - SEXY (I think that covers him quite nicely). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I really cannot wait to read the next instalment.
