Wolf Pact by Melissa De La Cruz

Summary from Goodreads

From the bestselling author of Blue Bloods, comes a series that will reinvent the myth of the werewolf in the same way that Blue Bloods did with vampires—with style and NYC flair!

Lawson and his brothers escaped from the underworld and now lead desperate, dangerous lives. They’re pursued by the Hounds of Hell from one town to the next, never calling any place home. But when the hounds finally catch up with them and capture the girl Lawson loves, the hunters become the hunted. Lawson will stop at nothing to track down the hounds, even if the chances of saving Tala are slim...

The only hope he has lies in Bliss Llewellyn. Bliss, too, has lost someone to the beasts and will do anything to get them back—even if it means joining forces with the insolent, dangerously good-looking boy with a wolf’s soul.

My Review

I was a little nervous starting Wolf Pact, mainly because I haven't yet read the Blue Bloods series, but I am so pleased to say you really don't need to have. But I suppose it would be a real treat to those who have as I'm told some of the characters from Blood Bloods are mentioned in Wolf Pact. I immediately fell into into Melissa's easy writing style and I found the book highly addictive. Wolf Pact has a great set of characters that are easily likeable and intriguing, mainly Lawson who is the leader of the pack *swoon*! The storyline is great, plenty of action, twists, turns, not to mention the fabulous world it is all set in. Admittedly I did have a little confusion at times but it was easily overcome and I thoroughly enjoyed Wolf Pact!

In the deepest darkest corners of the underworld all wolves are destined to become hounds of hell on their 18th moon. But Lawson and his pack put their plans into action to escape before it's too late.... They escape to earth, jumping from place to place to avoid being caught by by the hounds that are so desperately searching for them. But the wolves can't stay undetected forever and when the girl Lawson is in love with gets captured, he is forced to become the hunter not the hunted.

There are so many other things going on in the storyline, the arrival of a mysterious ex vampire, some old wolf legends being realised as truths and lots of shockers that the reader won't be expecting. The run up to the ending is a real page turner and you will be rushing along to the end to find out whats going to happen, and you won't be disappointed....

I would definitely recommend Wolf Pact to fans of the Blue Bloods series and also for those who haven't read it, because like me it will probably have you reaching for the Blue Bloods series to sink your teeth into too.
