My Review

The Witches of the Glass Castle is a really fresh, exciting witchy story that I hope will kick start a brand new series. It is brilliantly written, really well thought out and put together. The storyline is fantastic and reeled me in from the first chapter, it is peppered with twists and turns and is definitely different from everything else in the genre out there at the minute.

When sixteen year old Mia reads the writing on the wall in the basement of her house, everything in her life is turned upside down. Mia and her brother Dino learn that they come from a long line of witches and Mia unlocked their witching heritage. Their mother and aunt are thrilled with the news and pack them off to the Glass Castle to learn more about using their magic, just they did before them.

When they arrive at the Glass Castle they are greeted by a lady called Wendolyn and it's not too long before the adventures and the fun starts. Mia makes friends easily as she is such an outgoing, likeable person. But soon things become all to clear that someone or something is out to get Dino and Mia. They always seem to be in harms way and with Dino being so secretive Mia is left in the dark.

There are |Hunters in the book which makes it very different than your typical witchy book. Their job is to hunt and protect, they are cruel, cold and supposedly emotionless. But when a Hunter named Colt meets Mia, the pair become quite taken with each other. Can Colt keep up his duties as a Hunter and forget about Mia?

The ending of the book is brilliant, I loved how everything worked out and I was quite surprised at times. Gabriella Lepore has left the book wide open for lots more adventures to come (fingers crossed). Add The Witches of the Glass Castle to your Goodreads shelf today.

My favourite characters:

Mia: She is a very strong person, she is likeable, relate-able, down-to-earth and oozing with personality and adventure.

Colt: Colt loves himself, he is cocky, confident, very powerful and a force to reckoned with., I love his whole there's no-one quite like me attitude. Oh, did I mention he is quite a charmer and very swoon worthy. ;)

*Special thanks to Gabriella for the review copy*

  4. I hadn't heard of this before either but it sounds really good! I quite like books about witches, which is probably due to the L.J.Smith books that I read when I was a teenager.
Will check this one out :)
