One Pink Line
Can the love of a lifetime be forever changed by one pink line? Dina Silver’s tender, absorbing novel, One Pink Line, is the warmhearted, wry story of love, loss and family, as seen through the prism of one singular, spirited young couple who find themselves in a predicament that changes the course of their lives, and those closest to them. With heart, humor and compassion, this debut work of women’s fiction is certain to stir anyone who relishes a good laugh, can stand a good cry, and, above all believes in the redemptive power of love.
This unique, contemporary story gives readers a dual perspective. Sydney Shephard, a sweet-tempered, strong-natured college senior is young, in love with an exceptional man, and unexpectedly pregnant. Faced with a child she never planned for, she is forced to relay this news to her neurotic mother, relinquish her youth, and risk losing the love of her life. Then there’s Grace, a daughter, who believed she was a product of this great love, grows to realize her existence is not what she assumed, and is left with profound and puzzling questions about who she really is.
Spanning generations and every imaginable emotion, One Pink Line reveals how two points of view can be dramatically at odds, and perhaps ultimately reconciled. Simultaneously deeply felt and lighthearted, One Pink Line deftly mines how the choices we make are able to alter so many lives, and how doing the right thing and living honestly can bring unexpected, hard-won happiness. It’s a must-read for anyone who relishes a great love story, absorbing characters, and plenty of laughs along the way.

My Review
One Pink Line is a breath of fresh air, not my usual genre, but I would definitely recommend it to everyone. I was so interested from the start of the book, that I managed to read it in one day. One Pink Line is beautifully written and well executed, it kept up pace from start to finish and had a real mix of emotions throughout. What a wonderful début from Dina Silver.
Sydney Shephard really did have it all, a party girl lifestyle, steady, loving boyfriend (Ethan). she had graduated and had secured her first job. One mistake nearly ruined everything in her life, but also gave her the most precious thing in the world.
Sydney sleeps with one of her best friends from college and becomes pregnant. She then loses her long time boyfriend Ethan and has to struggle to work long hours to provide for her daughter by herself.
The storyline is told from two different points of view, Sydney and her daughter Grace. We get the whole emotional story from Sydney and an outlook from Grace. We get to see how different everything is for a child finding out their dad isn't their real dad and also finding out their real dad didn't want to know. She was heartbroken and ended up very angry at everyone.
One Pink Line had a great outcome, that I was really thrilled about. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. I loved Sydney's beautiful love story and her journey through life. Sydney for me was relate-able and I think she will be for alot of people out there. She is down to earth girl and is really likeable .
Dina Silver has done an amazing job with this novel. It will appeal to all ages, I am lending my copy straight to my mum. I will definitely be looking out for more works from Dina. Put One Pink Line on your wishlist today, I highly recommend it.
Oh, and did I mention the simple but beautifully attractive cover? As I'm sure most people know, I'm a book cover lover. :)
Special thanks to the lovely Dina Silver for the review copy and for doing this Valentines day feature.

Valentine’s Day. Two words that can instill either dread or mild dread in people. To be honest, I’ve never really been bothered by Valentine’s Day. In fact, I always thought it was a great opportunity to spread a little love to friends and family – albeit somewhat forced – but so what. Is it the worst thing to have a day once in a while where you’re obligated to tell people how much you love them? I mean, we’re talking once a year, people.
My husband and I never celebrate Valentine’s Day with much more than a bottle of wine and a nod of the head. But once I had my son, suddenly Valentine’s Day became a reason for me to shower him with holiday themed goodies! A really sweet, awesome pile of goodies that made him as giddy as I was buying them. Things like heart shaped pancakes, Valentine’s Day cards, Valentine’s Day stickers, stuffed animals with red and pink ribbons, socks with smooches on them, underwear with hearts on them, and pink frosted cupcakes with sprinkles. He learned early on that Valentine’s Day was a celebration of love. A day where you can speak from the heart and be free to share your feelings without reason.
So I guess maybe I am a fan of Valentine’s Day. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a sucker for a great love story. So when I set out to write, I truly aim to please those readers, like myself, who crave a heart-pounding journey that leads to a happy ending.
And when I showed my son the cover of One Pink Line, in its bright pink, hearty splendor, he said, “It looks like Valentine’s Day, mom.” Yes it does.
