This is the forth book in the fantastic Black Dagger Brotherhood Series.This is Butch O'Neal's story.
Butch is an ex-homicide cop, a natural fighter and a human. He gets introduced to the brotherhood's world through Beth, and soon forms a strong friendship with Vishous. He is the only human to ever be let into the brotherhoods tight inner circle. He is in love with Marissa, but thinks he is not worthy of her.
Marissa (a vamp) belongs to a different world, the blind kings former Shellan, from an old aristocratic family. She is such a strong willed woman and a true lady. Butch and Marissa couldn't be more different.
Butch being Butch sacrifices himself in order to save a male civilian. And falls prey to the dark force that is the Omega. He is then left for dead, found against all odds by his best friend. Marissa is called on, but can she save him?
There are some shockers in this novel and the ending is beautiful. Butch and Marissa are a perfect match for each other and i have enjoyed reading their story.
