Indie Author Challenge #1

Every month I am going to challenge myself to read 2 Indie author books! I think there are some wonderful Indie's out there and I am very keen to showcase their works! I don't think Indie books get enough exposure and more people need to take a chance on them - there are most probably a lot of diamonds in the rough out there just waiting to be discovered!

I have a stack of Indie books already, which need some loving and I can only appologise to the authors for not getting to them sooner. After I get down the review pile I will be on the search for more books to add to this feature. So please do get in touch if you would like me to consider your book!

So, Come on people, take part in an Indie author challenge today because Indie authors need YOU!!

The 2 books I will be reading for April:

A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest

On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.

A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.

She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.

Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.

Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.

Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?

Alexis' Afterlife (Solace #2) by Wendy Risher

Sarah's sister, Alexis, died at the young age of 17. Over 20 years later, she finally visits her sister, and she's ready to tell her story ...

Alexis' afterlife is a lonely existence, especially after she decides to distance herself from other spirits. She finds the strength to move on, but is always reluctant to visit her family or enter the light that always invites her. Eventually, she meets a young girl named Serenity who needs her help with invading spirits. Serenity remains her close friend and only connection to the living until Alexis is presented with a second chance to live ... and love. But what are the consequences?

Feel free to take part in this challenge with me or if you have you own similar one please do drop me a link so I can check it out!! :)

  1. Great idea! I have been reading more indie lately and I must recommend you try something by Misty Provencher. I have seen that vampire book all around and I just can't do it. I just have no desire to read vampires right now. None! Zip! Nada. No vamps for me.
