About the Author:

I grew up in a small northern Minnesotan town married my high school sweetheart, had two beautiful children and as soon as we could we moved to a warmer climate. I have worked with my husband building and decorating custom homes for years. After loving every kind of vampire book, movie and series I decided that I wanted to know more. I can write a book I thought, how hard can that be? Well.... But I stuck to it and finished my first book Royal Blood Chronicles Book One in August 2009. I now have six books in the series and am about to release book two of my new series Phantom Lives. My parents always told me that I could do anything that I wanted, work hard, study and do it right. I believe that and live that way every day.

I started writing this new vampire series for teens and their moms because I myself wanted something different to read. I was tired of all the modern versions of vampire books, there had to be more to these long lived beings. Where had they been what had they seen? I wanted, no I NEEDED to know more so Royal Blood Chronicles was born! As in Royal Blood Chronicles, Phantom Lives features strong female characters and action and adventure mixed with romance, friendship and a historical backdrop.

It’s an understatement to say that I love fantasy worlds. It started early when my sister used to read to me before bed. Fairytales filled my dreams in those days and I continued reading fantasy and loving the worlds of Lord of the Rings, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Mysterious Island, and of course later, Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games.

Now I write fantasy too. I really started after Twilight and Harry Potter, when I found it hard to find what I wanted to read. I decided then to build my own worlds and fill them with every kind of creature and character that I loved. Royal Blood Chronicles is that world. It’s filled with a new kind of vampire, those born; a race of vampires, not the undead creatures of lore. Strong female characters were also a must. They had to be strong, never waiting for someone else to save them, but instead saving everyone else.

It also includes a magic aspect with elves, wizards, witches and warlocks included in the mix. You can travel to the underworld kingdoms of Althar and be introduced to Demon Kings, fight serpents and the evil that is trying to take over the peaceful races of the world.

The backdrop is lush and grand, the royal houses of Europe in the early 1800’s and early America where they build a new dynasty, finding evil has both preceded their move and is following them. It’s a fun, wild ride of true YA fantasy that you can read with your kids. If you loved any of the books I mentioned here, you will love Royal Blood Chronicles. Start here, with Katrina, the Beginning.

  1. I went through a strange phase after the last Harry Potter book where I just couldn't make myself read anything. It's interesting to hear Elizabeth went through something similar but decided to create her own world out of it! That's very cool. :)

  2. I know it is hard to find a good read after Harry Potter steals your imagination. I like that this historical book with many elements, elves and wizards and magic! Fun!

  3. Thanks for hosting today. I had a blast. Yes I had a hard time after finishing such great works as Harry Potter, but I decided that rather than wait I would try to put own spin on fantasy worlds. And since I was older than most authors I think it was an advantage. I love creating new worlds for readers to get lost in.
