My Review

The Man of My Dreams is a short, engaging, highly emotional read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I loved that it was quite different from the tons of other vampire books out there at the minute. Gladys Quintal has written a great first book in what I hope to be a brilliant new series.

I feel like I have to say this, The Man of My Dreams probably won't appeal to everyone as there is some abuse in the storyline that may make some people feel uncomfortable. Saying that In think we needed to hear the back round story to see that it adds to the storyline and how the characters are.

Cassie has been getting a visitor from the man in her dreams for around 20 years. He has saved her life and been a comforting, reliable presence over the years. When she breaks up with her partner he comforts her and the pair become physical, but it leaves Cassie questioning her sanity. Is the tall, dark stranger from her dreams even real?

A long line of horrible events lasting over the last 20 years make Cassie question if the man of her dreams is somehow linked to the events. Something terrible happens to Cassie, but can she rely on the man of her dreams, that she believes to be real to save her life? Can he save her from the terrifying clutches of a maniac before it's too late?

I understand I'm not saying very much, but I simply think it would be too easy for me to give everything away. The ending was great, it has left me reaching for the next book in the series 'Be Careful What You Wish For'.

The only downside for me was wishing the book was longer, it was over all to soon. Add The Man of My Dreams to my Goodreads shelf today.

My favourite character:

Cassie : Main character Cassie has been through so much in her life and it hasn't been been easy. But she is a strong woman who looks to her future. She is likeable and I connected with her quite early on.

4/5 Stars

Carly :)

  1. I haven't actually come across this book before but it sounds like it is worth the read. It seems like there are a few heavier themes in this story but I am willing to give it a go. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! :)

  2. I wouldn't have guessed this was a vaire book. I appreciate you giving the heads up on the abuse in the story line. Definitely may not be for everyone. I personally am just abit burned out on vamps right now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
